Abstract
Typical features of the current development of retail network at Slovakia are the intensive integration and the concentration of business activities in business centers. The research of the Nitra retail network was carried out on two levels. Doing a field research we investigated the retail network in the particular town of Nitra. In the second part of the project we did a questionnaire research to analyze the current situation and position of large-area shops, such as hypermarkets, supermarkets and shopping malls in Nitra. Shopping behavior of the population is a complex sociological phenomenon, is the subject of study in particular, sociology.´Geographer shopping behavior and looking for a comprehensive perception of spatial interaction and correlation.
