Abstract

Microteaching as a method of training pre-service teachers is analysed by a number of researchers at home and abroad, especially teacher training institutions. It is a technique that allows student teachers to practice and refine their teaching skills before applying them in a real classroom. The aim of the paper is to define microteaching, describe and evaluate the authors' experience with its integration into the teaching programmes at P. J. Šafárik University (UPJŠ) in Košice, and evaluate the survey concerning microteaching on the sample of 2nd year master studies students of geography teaching in the school year 2018/2019, who attended Seminar from Geography Teaching at the Institute of Geography. Based on their responses, microteaching is considered as a worthwhile method suitable for training qualified geography teachers.
