Abstract

The main objective of this article is to characterize and compare number of visitors of the NUTS II – Eastern Slovakia (concretely region of Košice and Prešov) in years from 2001 to 2011. Characteristics will be provided and compared firstly on regional (this will also include characteristic of both of them together) and then on district level. We will compare number of visitors, overnight stays and length of their visit in selected area. In summary we will compare how much and how long usually visitors stays in area and if regions, which are standardized as “region with international importance” are also regions with biggest attendance.
