Abstract

In majority of European countries, employment currently belongs to one of the most observed economic parameters. Particularly reduction in the level of unemployment of women and related issues belong to main priorities of national governments of member countries of the European Union. The current situation and continuously deepening problems of labour markets require frequent changes in the approach to their solutions. The solution of the issue of employment of women in individual countries differ and differences in economic level, different features and cultures in individual countries can be traced. However, we can also find mutual features e.g. unemployment of older people, youth and graduates, but especially unemployment based on sex and long-term unemployment. The objective of this paper is the analysis of the current status of opportunities for employment of women on the labour market in particular professions. Partial objective was to make the assessment of the employment policy on national level. Consequently, through the sociological research, the objective was to perform perception of the position of women on the labour market in South Bohemia.
