Abstract

The long term goal of regional policy of EU and SR is to equalize regional disparities and to stimulate economic and social development of underdeveloped regions. An effective way to achieve the development of poorer rural regions can be mutual cooperation and joint efforts of several rural communities in the microregional association. Micro-region as a legal entity is eligible to financial support from government grants and EU funds for its development objectives. The condition for obtaining this support is to have prepared a program document that clearly defines the micro-regional development strategy and ensure its implementation.
