Abstract
The aim of this paper is to point out at differentiation of development of Slovak regions NUTS IV, which are classified mostly as urban and rural regions, based on OECD methodology. Based on this definition, Slovak urban and rural regions are analyzed. Regional differentiation levels of Slovak development are examined by carefully chosen indicators of socio-economic analysis. The inequalities are identified by socio-economic and demographic indicators within Slovak regions and they reflect development of the area.
