Abstract

Constant accumulation of waste is becoming a global problem that negatively affects the existence of mankind. One form of the effective elimination of this danger of the amount of waste produced is its recycling. In 2001, the foundations of modern waste management in the Slovak Republic were laid, when the Recycling Fund was founded. Its aim was to develop a recycling industry at the expense of landfill and thus to develop an area of waste recovery. The aim of this paper is to evaluate the activity of the Recycling Fund and to reveal its pros and cons. In the area of waste management, we focused on the sphere of waste management in the automotive section of the end of their life cycle.
