Abstract
In the first part, the article deals with the development of agricultural soil in Slovakia from 1950 to 2010. The subject of interest is the range of agricultural soil and its purpose during the studied period as well as the current usage and perspectives of agricultural soil in Slovakia. The second part of the article is dedicated to the evidence of agricultural soil in Land Parcel Identification System (LPIS). The contemporary spatial differentiation of agricultural soil and arable soil is analyzed at the level of districts of Slovakia. The part of the article deals also with the average official price of agricultural soil which is the best indicator of the quality of agricultural soil. Furthermore, the article aims also at the deployment and use of primary, secondary and other soil fund in Slovakia.
