Abstract

Currently, the scientific geographical literature does not pay adequate attention to the spatial aspects of drawing financial resources from structural funds although these financial resources represent one of the most important sources for regional development of municipalities. Therefore, the aim of the study is the analysis of drawing financial resources from the structural funds of the European Union during 2004 - 2006 on the example of Sectoral Operational Programme Human Resources because, especially, this programme is focused on the employment growth and social development in so-called “stagnant regions“.
