Abstract

The presented contribution is focused on a historical development of settlement of the Roma population in Europe as well as in Slovakia. It deals with the institutional and program ensuring that minorities through the regional offices of the Office of the Plenipotentiary for Roma communities, who to develop strategic documents bringing development concepts, plans and measures to solve the problems of the Roma minority. The contribution provides statistical information on numbers of Roma ethnitown district Revúca and town of Revúca within The census of population, houses and flats in years 2001 and 2011, which compares the same time. Cartographically processed locate the four settlements of the Roma minority in Revúca by categories of settlements and their infrastructure. It provides an overview of the specifications of this population, which are the image of their character, verbal as well as social expression. As some manifestations of the Roma population is social rules excluded, the Government of Slovak republic possibilities of solutions this situation proceeded by drafting the government documents in the education system, which the individual institutions presented in the article secured. The contribution on the results of the questionnaire the relations between the minority population and the Slovak nationality and also the possibilities of solutions this issue presented.
