Abstract

The article is focused on the CEDRON – NITRAVA microregion, on evaluation of municipalities in terms of the possibilities of cycling tourism development and design of cycling routes in the microregion. Microregion offers suitable opportunities for cycling which can be combined with cultural-historical monuments and protected parts of nature. Microregion consists of 19 self-governments, 26 non-profit organizations, 20 business entities, 13 citizens and 2 budgetary organizations at present. The following criteria were used for evaluation of municipalities for cyclotourism: cycling transport and additional cycling infrastructure, occurrence of licensed cycling facilities, natural conditions of the territory, occurrence of attractions and negative (disturbing) elements of cycling transport. Due to the character of the municipalities of the microregion, the 8 cycling routes were designed mainly of a cognitive and relaxation character.
