Abstract

The local landscape is an important part of teaching geography. In this part of land children grow up, go to school and do many other activities (sport, hobbies...). The curriculum about local landscape has priority in geography as a school subject, but we can find many cross-cutting themes in other subjects too, such as biology, history or citizen education. All of these subjects are a part of the state education programme. The main aim of this article is to point on the status of local landscape teaching on second grade of primary school, to define various options and didactical methods in teaching about local landscape of Rajecka valley on the specific examples.
