Abstract

It is generally known that tourism is an important component of the national economy. Between the development of the national economy and tourism is symbiotic interconnectedness. Importance of tourism rises, on the one hand due to higher personal free time, on the other hand, due to the rising demands, which puts individuals working on the technical level of postindustrial society. Tourism contributes positively to regional development, changing its infrastructure, affects the employment of the population, or vice versa can negatively transform the natural environment. The development of tourism has a big impact given the economic situation and the resulting social standards of the population. The article presents the relationship between the economic situation and tourism on the example of the Czech Republic. It analyzes the period of the last three years. The period was chosen deliberately to be presented receding influence of the economic crisis and the onset of progressive development. Tourism, of course, also effects the current political situation.
