Abstract

The aim of the article is to characterize the basic socioeconomical and environmental features of the two neighbour municipatilies - Valaska and Hronec in the context of their historical development within the region Horehronie, Slovakia and the Central Europe. There is an evident influence of the European policy. The atricle characterizes specifics and individuality of the area using the historical method, contextual analysis and synthesis.
