Abstract
Sulphur is one of the essential, irrecoverable nutrients in cultivating agricultural plants. It is a mobile element in environment and it occurs in variety of its chemical forms. The sulphur content in soil is reduced by decrease of application of organic and synthetic fertilizers in the last decades, as well as by the reduction the of sulphur emissions. Therefore, it is important to monitor the content of selected sulphur fractions in soil, which have positive effect on agricultural production. The aim of our work is to determine selected fractions of sulphur in soil samples. We compared particular indicators in samples from different types of soil, which were taken from county of Nitra, Trenčín and Trnava in different depths. We studied contents of selected fractions of sulphur in Slovakia soils during 1999-2010: sulphate sulphur (SS), chloride soluble sulphur (ClSS) and heat soluble sulphur (HSS).
