Abstract

The article devotes to history and current state of viniculture and viticulture in Slovakia, partially. It points out on specifics of Nitra wine region dealing with history and regionalization of viniculture, factors influencing the cultivation of the vine and typical varieties in the study area. The article introduces an organization structure of subjects that are specialized on production of wine in Slovakia and it provides current database of winemakers in Nitra region, which includes the Nitra wine region. At the end, it deals with wine trail operating in Nitra wine region.
